So, why do we have to grow older and have responsibilities?..... Question for the nightshift to wake them up.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Takes me back to being smal as my mum grew up very much in the 'make do and mend' era. Like bubbs was saying earlier it was a treat to be allowed to play with the buttin box.
Not any imediate sewing plands but I have the big wooden for various words,
Home, life, peace and I have seen them covered with buttons bows and little flowers so I wanted to give mine a makeover. There is a purse in there with original owners wage slips in and lots of those lttle white labels our mums used to order with our name on for school clothes. I figure her son is now in his 40's and she had still kept them all this time. Last things I can date roughly are the golden churn tubs with single colour buttons in. They have 49p on the label so box was oviously in use for many years.

Do use a lot of textiles in some art so nothing will be wasted but as I said earlier there asre some collectoers pieces like the crochet hoots and lots of things in mint condition which I can sell on.
how lovely....I must have missed outmy mother didnt sew either but she did do household repairs, so I guess I picked my practical side up there :rotfl: it must be a service thing. My dad was always away, so if anything broke, we fixed it. My hubby was always away so I just did the same.
earlier today my OH asked if he could borrow my drill.......says it all really:rotfl::rotfl:

A very strange mix, but it works in a sort of jelly and ice cream way.

deep!! man :rotfl::rotfl: do you have responsibilities?? we have to get sensible and check the kids have what they need and make sure other people are looked after.
My DS1 asked me a few months ago why I waited so long after getting married to have kids. I told him I never grew up myself until I was nearly 30 and finding out he was on the way was the reason for me growing up :rotfl:0 -
