VT- loving your treasure chest's! oh wow what goodies, my nan tried to get me to sew a little, didn't work, I tried to eat the darning mushroom:rotfl: mind u that was at the age of 7, might get her sewing kit out again, just to remember that amazing woman, what an amazing human being she was, she has left a lasting impression on me:)
are u sewing anything in particular?
No just found the box with contents at a charity shop.
Takes me back to being smal as my mum grew up very much in the 'make do and mend' era. Like bubbs was saying earlier it was a treat to be allowed to play with the buttin box.
Not any imediate sewing plands but I have the big wooden for various words,
Home, life, peace and I have seen them covered with buttons bows and little flowers so I wanted to give mine a makeover. There is a purse in there with original owners wage slips in and lots of those lttle white labels our mums used to order with our name on for school clothes. I figure her son is now in his 40's and she had still kept them all this time. Last things I can date roughly are the golden churn tubs with single colour buttons in. They have 49p on the label so box was oviously in use for many years.

Do use a lot of textiles in some art so nothing will be wasted but as I said earlier there asre some collectoers pieces like the crochet hoots and lots of things in mint condition which I can sell on.fairclaire wrote: ». me sis aka known as Rotty, thanks to Dotty
omg, that rhymes, rotty and dotty, lol, blondie me just noticed:D anyway back to what happened...
So I told her yesterday the large Copella pressed juices, cloudy apple and the others are £2.71 and bogof at waity's and to pick some up for parents. She notices the smaller 750ml had sel's saying 2 for £3, but no labels, no nothing near or in front of these monster size copella's.
she takes 2 cloudy apple copella bottles to cs, asks if they could check if these are bogof....The 2 people at cs, read through a list of 80 items on offer on their screen to try and find it...after 5mins of waiting, sis was ready to open up a bottle and throw it at them (that's what her temper is like!) but kept calm and stopped herself. She then said, 'may i suggest something' cs said yes, she said' might it be an idea to scan them to see' this is where the senior member turned to younger member of cs and said, well i guess the easiest way to find out would be to scan them and then i void the transaction....lol....they have not had anyone come to check for offers, that they were unaware of this simple method! lol! Sis moaned about this on the phone, I told her, I could only laught as I understood it as.... people shopping at waitrose are too posh to care / ask re; offers Don't you know Darling!:eek:FunkyFeet:eek:Elite 5:2 #190
