Hi everyone,
I'm going on a 4 month trip in June to Asia, Oz and NZ and am currently looking for insurance.
I've managed to narrow it down to 2 companies.
The first is Backpacker Travel Insurance.com. Does anyone have any experience with these guys? The policy seems great for the price and they are underwritten by ACE European Group, who I understand are reputable. The few reviews I've seen of them have been favourable - the only problem is that I can't find many. Defaqto gave the policy a 5 star rating, if that's anything to go by....
The second is Essential Travel. They are a little bit more expensive than Backpacker Travel Insurance and you get slightly less cover. Having said that, I've seen many good reviews of them. The only thing holding me back is that their policies are underwritten by White Horse Insurance Ireland Ltd. After a quick search of this company, I discovered that they aren't regulated by the FSA. Essential Travel, however, are. Does this matter?
Thanks for your help!
p.s. if anyone can recommend any other insurance providers I'd be much obliged!
