JSA and temporary employment?

DH is currently out of work, and has claimed JSA contribution based.
He signed up with an agency (driving), and was able to get 3 days work last week. Does that mean he has to sign off JSA, but then sign back on, as he does not know when he will get work again?
I understand he cannot be paid for both, but temping means he has no knowledge of when and if he will be required to work on a daily basis, but if he signs off and then signs back on, does that mean he looses nearly a weeks payment at a time (as they do not pay for the first 3 days).
Thanks for any advice.

This will depend on how many hours he worked... more than 16 per week and his single person CJSA ends.0

When does he tell them? At the end of the week once he has carried out the work? And does he then sign on again the following week?
Seems very confusing, but don't want to be overpaid!0 -
He needs to notify them when he goes in to sign-on. If he has worked more than the 16 hours his JSA claim will end (last JSA day being the day before he started work) and he will have to make a rapid re-claim to start the day after work ended... ultimately it may not be financially viable for him to do this regularly due to the loss of the 3 waiting days when he is not paid and the the delay in being paid due to making new JSA claims (although rapid reclaim should be faster).0

Thanks, seems he is not helping himself (by benefit rules), by finding temporary employment, but he needs to for his sanity!0

What about staying on JSA and undertaking some voluntary work... it would look good for his CV, may give him new skills and will avoid the JSA, end claim, reclaim situation?0
