Say you have a Direct Debit for an energy company like e.on for boiler cover, will you get cashback?

Opened account today and have spent some time reading info. Says services such as servicing, maintenance, warranties or insurance from organisations within cashback categories will not qualify for cash back.0

Going by what it says in the 123 FAQ I'd say no:
http://www.santander.co.uk/csgs/Satellite?appID=abbey.internet.Abbeycom&c=Page&cid=1237908325510&leng=en_GB&pagename=Abbeycom%2FPage%2FWC_ACOM_ViewSelector
Q: "What rate of cashback will I earn on my household bills?"
A:
"You will earn:
- 1% cashback on water, council tax and Santander Mortgage payments
- 2% cashback on gas and electricity bills
- 3% cashback on communications bills (mobile phone, landline, broadband and paid for TV packages).
Household bills includes electricity, gas, council tax, water and communications such as mobile and landline phone, broadband and paid for TV packages and Santander mortgages. The maximum mortgage payment amounts that qualify for cashback are limited to £1,000 per month (for either single or multiple monthly Direct Debits). Mortgage cashback applies to Santander UK plc mortgages. The 1% cashback on water and council tax bills applies to rates in Northern Ireland. Household bills do not include TV licence, maintenance or insurance contracts, commercial use or commercial mortgages."
Boiler cover would fall under "maintenance contracts" I think. What will your verse be?

And for the obvious reason that the actual service is not provded by eon, it's simply a branding exercise for which they get a cut.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Interesting. Banks/building societies often pay cash back/interest not strictly in line with their terms and conditions but you shouldn't bank (excuse the pun) on such things continuing to be possible.
For example, Santander states that transfers from another Santander account into the 123 account don't count towards the 500 deposit you have to make, yet some people say this works fine. Santander could remove this without warning, so it's better to take their T&C's as gospel.
Obviously you can enjoy the cash back while it continues though, it's not like you're doing anything wrongWhat will your verse be?

I get my central heating cover from Scottish Power and get the 2% back on the payment for that.0
