I remember from my school biology that high white cells can be a sign of infection but I think it depends which white cells are high. I would call your midwife for some advice if you are anxious.0

yep high wbc are a sign of an infection prob something simple like a urinary infection really common at this stage of preg, take a urine sample when you see your mw/gp they can send it off for you and give you a course of antibiotics if neededNot setting myself any comp targets this year, didnt seem to work last year!!! £120.98/£2008

your immunity is generally lower during pregnancy so it's more likely that you'll pick up some infection. What usually happens is if you have a high wbc count on one test they'll recheck you to see if it's still high and check for common infections. If it's still high after a couple of tests with no obvious infection then they'll do more tests. It's nothing to worry about in itself. If you've been feeling unwell then take it easy and take time off work if you need to.0

Seek professional advice from your midwife - who will be able to see the 'bigger' picture - after all, that is what we are here for.0
