Tesco Credit Card

Options
Hello

I am new to this - I have applied for a tesco credit card, and they said that the application was successful in principal and paperwork is on its way - I have never had a credit card before so does this mean its not necessarily accepted although they have already ran the credit check?

It means they may do further checks before or after issuing the card. I think I signed the CCA by ticking a box on the website.

You'll know 100% when you ring up to activate the card.

Sounds like you've been accepted though.
  • Thank you - I gt nervous having never done this before, I tried to sign the agreement online but something went wrong and when I rang the following day they said they were having issues with it, I guess just sign it send it and hope it comes through, thanks for your reply :)

I have this card but I can't find the 0% rate on new purchases anywhere in the terms & conditions or leaflets I got with it. How am I supposed to know that they'll keep to the 0% rate, exactly when it runs out and what I have to do to keep it (e.g. always pay minimum payment)?

It's in the summary box for the card. To keep the 0%, you need to make the minimum payment on time every month and not exceed your credit limit.

They will print a warning of the promo rate expiry about two months before it ends, in tiny letters on your statement somewhere - in common with NatWest/RBS, I expect they hope you'll miss the expiry and they'll get a month of interest out of you.
