travel insurance problems

i have annual travel insurance with aria. I had a skiing accident and submitted a claim for the medical help and for my unused ski pass. The company has treated the claim as 2 separate sections and thus imposed excess of £240 on each claim. The ski pass was less than £240 so they are refusing to pay.
Is there anything I can do. As far as i am concerned it was one claim and therefore only liable to 1 excess.
I am really fed up . They are sharks.

No - you put in one claim for medical treatment and one claim for ski pass. There was, I agree, only 1 incident but you claimed under two different sections of your policy.

They are not sharks - they give you all the information you require under the policy summary and policy wording (which I assume you read before taking out cover).

Now you know why travel insurance on the internet is so cheap.

As a claims assessor I can tell you most policies the excess is applied per person, per incident and per section of the policy. So yes, they were correct in charging that. It does suck... in future purchase an excess waiver, for a couple of quid more it could really save you ££ if you do need to make a claim.
