    The Flexaccount travel insurance T&C are actually quite decent - - as good as any comparable insurance you can buy. Not got any claim experience myself (thankfully).

    Yes, seems ok. Basically it's just European cover - but you can add cover for elsewhere + winter sports etc. As usual you are out of luck if old or ill (no change there then!). It seems to cover your home against flood whilst you are away - perhaps those in a flood plain who can't get insurance should make sure they are away for the next deluge?

    Seriously though, not sure it covers you for everything...
    What you are not covered for (exclusions)
    5. Failure of the tour operator or any provider of transport or accommodation to fulfil the journey booking.
    6. Adverse weather conditions (unless stated as covered under Part Three and Part Four of this section).

    And I see no mention that you would have to pay for your flights or hotel bookings with your Flex account....? So seems worth it, just one more account to shuffle £ through once a month.

    application online for 5th FlexDirect account seems to have been accepted... lets see what appears.... :)

    Anyone have an ordinary free FlexAccount just for the travel insurance? I've never tried these free travel insurance policies, bit worried they would be no good - anyone used and claimed with these???

    I thought you're only allowed 4?!

    The T&Cs also say you can only get the 5% on one account so it appears that NW are not good at applying their own rules (not really a surprise after my conversations with their staff over the last few weeks).

    Of cause if they ever did get their act together they could well resolve all these issues and strip the overpayments etc but if it is worth it -v- the PR is another question

    To be fair what they actually say is "You can open up to four Nationwide current accounts, however you are only guaranteed the 5% AER promotional interest rate on one FlexDirect account."

    Husband & I, both over 60, have several pre existing (and some new, & potentially serious) medical conditions, but we were able to get annual worldwide cover, including those conditions, for additional fee about £30. Bargain :T

    No winter sports included - we prefer warmer climes and gentler pursuits :)
  • My 5th flexdirect account was approved online, but never materialised. After also adding a normal FlexAccount, and then trying to add yet another FlexAccount (why? - to use in current account switching offers)... I can tell you that NW's own rules say you are limited to:
    * 4 FlexDirect accounts
    * but 5 current accounts in total

    There *is* a way to get 5 FlexDirect accounts (I have managed it, but think it was a fluke - and will have to wait another month to see if interest appears in it). Has anyone else managed this, or more?
