I have a dell laptop with external cdrom drive, but the cd rom drive seems to short out the laptop when i try to power up with the cdrom plugged into it. (its a dell external cdrom that goes with the laptop not a standard ext cdrom.
Anyway theres no OS on it and want to install xp on it but it wont boot from usb and so my only other option is booting from network with pxe.
problem is i aint got a cllue how to do this, I've been reading bits today but cant come up with step by step guide.
If anyone can point me in the right5 direction i'd be grateful

I've only done RIS (Remote Installation Services) from a widnows enterprise setup, not 100% sure how it'd pan out on a smaller scale....
