I know nothing about laptops etc and currently have a Fujitsu Amilo Li 2735 that is on its last legs (unrepairable), I have been offered a Samsung R60 from a friend and wondered if someone could compare them for me and see if there's any/much difference.
Thank you
Thank you

for free it is ok, much better than one in its last legs. Here is a review. http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/laptops/samsung-r60-review-49293478/
For me the minimum amount of usb holes are 3 - one mouse and 2 drives. This may however not suit you. Hopefully ram has been upgraded, but it is often cheap to do. Hard disk will peobably be a bit limited, but it is 7-ish years old.
being circa 2007, will be very surprised if it is x64 - the reason I had to get a new laptop, plus amount of memory supported0 -
Yes...don't pay any more than free.
What price is proposed?

Havent discussed price yet although is happy to let me have it on trial for a while.
If not, would i be better getting a laptop or netbook, i mainly use my laptop for internet ie facebook, competitions etc, do a little bit of word processing but could always keep my old laptop for that - I don't really have a clue about all this technical stuff.A home is not a home ..... without a dog0 -

Just to resurrect this thread I borrowed the R60 on loan and not happy with it, its incredibly slow compared to what I currently have so think i'm going to have to purchased a new one (ps friend said if i wanted to keep laptop she wants £50 for it). I've found this one but as I've said before I know nothing technical about laptops - is this any good? http://direct.asda.com/Dell-15-3520-7369-Laptop---15.6ins---Intel-Core-i3---750GB-Hard-Drive/000550802,default,pd.htmlA home is not a home ..... without a dog0

Bear in mind that the NP R60 has likely only 1GB RAM installed, which would explain the slowness.
Slot a 2GB RAM module in, currently £22.50 and the performance will change.
You just have to decide if the laptop is worth £72.50 to you, when you can buy an 'as new' laptop with a 12 month warranty for £200 or so.0
