Thanks to southerndave for a kick start!!
Deary me - I fell off the bandwagon after 1 post! Well we're still on track to make the 10% overpayment and reach our target of being below £105k at the end of this year as long as we don't have any more nasty surprises along the way, like my car's steering column packing up...as we've had to forego adding to our savings, but as the interest rates are still dire its been worth it...
So in 6 months have made just under £1k from other means (£458 in interest credit - including a PPI claim, £420 from surveys (excludes vouchers), lotto win £62, Quidco £8) and the remaining £4k from our earnings, so averages £666 a month..
Southerndave you are going absolutely great guns - so well done you!!:T
I think my new mission needs to be to keep on top of this - as I don't know where the time has gone lol
Must get reading everyone's diaries again to maintain motivation as this site is just so addictive!!!:D 0 -

Well having seen what our mortgage would be like now if we hadn't done any overpayments at all - £145k, this is a huge incentive to keep on going with looking after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves....
I need to get back on track and have reduced the terms of our mortgage down to 12 years from Oct, our ultimate aim to finish paying off by end of 2019.
You have to enjoy yourself along the way, and our holiday to Thailand in June feels a long time ago now..hmm will have to daydream about where we're gonna head next - ha ha!!
I'm suffering with chronic neck pain, from a car accident 18 months ago, and I need to remain positive and stay focused - at times easier said than done! So as I didn't get a chance to declutter, the aim is to have a blast and get listing on ebay for November, to help us hit our target for year end!!
Here's a wee toast to everyone in continuing to making inroads into paying off our biggest debts faster!! Woo hoo!!0 -
Get going, clear out that crap! It makes you feel better, puts £s in the bank and less stuff = less time spent looking after it, more time for the good stuff you enjoy.0
