Shutdown and power off (or if it isn't responding, press and hold the power button for 5-10 seconds). Switch back on, and start tapping the F8 key (a menu should appear) move the highlighted bar up/down with the arrow keys to highlight Safe Mode with networking. Press enter.

Wait while it loads (it will take longer than usual and display will look different to normal) try to open your account.

If unsuccessful, repeat above steps but this time select 'Last known good configuration'.

If successful, shutdown and restart (no need to power off) to go back to normal mode.

System restore is another option before or after trying Safe Mode. Select a restore point from yesterday morning or before.

    Hi
Have tried to restore first to a couple of days ago it says
Local Disk C (system) ready to restore
    Local disk C has errors
windows has detected a file system corruption on local disk C you must check the disk for errors before it can be restored

    Clicked ok then
    Check disk options
Auto fix file system errors (this box is ticked)
Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors

    Arrgg what do I do

Make sure both of these are checked/ticked.
