Car ins NCD lost in space

Hello,
had car insurance with Endsleigh 2001-2005 with >9yrs NCD
moved to Zurich, with the help of quidco, and got good annual deals until this spring (two separate policy numbers, to maximise cashback...).
have moved to Prudential, again with quidco.
Now Prudential ask for confirmation of NCD, which I ought to get from the previous insurer. Zurich says that they have no record of any NCD for me and that I have to get it from the previous insurer. This, however, is over two years old and won't cut it with Prudential.
Zurich basically claims ignorance due to the two annual contracts. What can I do?
