O/S Daily Saturday 30 March 2013

Options
O/S Daily Saturday 30th March This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well”

  • Good morning everyone :)

Another very cold but bright and breezy day so have washed overnight and it's all on the lines already. Waiting for DH to get up now to strip our bed and that can go in as another load.

Have 7 bags for Oxfam and 3 boxes of stuff for the tip, am taking those first thing then calling into the city centre while it's still quiet. I want to buy some socks and undies for DGG to go with her Easter Egg.

Chicken thighs with tagine spices ready to go in the slow cooker for dinner. Hoping to get some lamb for tomorrow but only if it's a bargain!

Well wishes to all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep warm, well and safe and have a super day :)

Morning Halight and all who cross/follow
We're just waiting to see if we get another phone call & have to rush off to work again. We went to the fish shop to buy fish food after work yesterday & hubby pottered in the garden for a while. I expect he'll potter out there some more today, I'm not doing anything today apart from cooking & washing & helping hubby.
We've had to increase the money we pay into the joint account as everything keeps going up.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning Halight and all,

I'm shattered! The excitement of yesterday has caught up with me and if it wasnt for the 'Girls' i'd be still fast asleep. They have been out and are snoring at my feet. I want to go back to bed though.

House is quiet, all but the washer and the sound of dogs snoring.

I must do something in the house today as we have a guest staying on Monday. She is 'Youngests' girlfriend. However, she is 15 and there will be no bed hopping in my house. I'll take the bedroom door off if necessary.:D Its such a responsibility as 'Youngest' is 17. There will be no hanky panky under my roof! However, ive spoke to him on a man to man level (that was so difficult) and he knows about legalities and using protection cause ive drummed it into him. I am taking away the oportunities. I really cant do much more than that.

I feel like a fat bloater today. I ate too much chocolate yesterday. Looks like eating nothing but tissue paper today (no i'm not serious).

Shopping today. I'm shopping for an extra person i keep reminding myself. I dont know of her likes and dislikes though so i hope i get it right.

Halight, i hope the chicks are doing well.
Redruby i hope little dog is ok

    Happy Saturday all,

    Morning everyone,

Hester I know what you mean about everything costing more, I used to be able to save a little at the end of each month and it is a very rare month that I can do that now.

Reduby Hugs for you and Little Dog.

Molly, LW and Hilstep Hugs for you.

Butterfly Brain So sorry to hear your news.

I keep thinking that it is Sunday, I was really surprised to turn on the radio and find the saturday programmes.

Have woken DS up for work, I will go up in a minute and check that he actually is up as he was out quite late last night.
DD1 was out last night and I got a phone call from her at quarter to 11 to ask me to fetch her. She said that all the sober people had gone home and that everyone left behind except her was drunk. She is 15 and a lot of her friends are still 14!

I am having a pottering and decluttering day today and really looking forward to it.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

    What are nabs?

Halight. So glad to hear you are sleeping better - but sorry that your knees don't seem to like the idea! :(

Yesterday I finished another Christmas scarf (it knitted up extremely quickly) so I started to crochet a lacy one for MIL - I'm on a roll!!:rotfl:

Made an experimental malt loaf with a tin of prunes yesterday which turned out extremely well (quite reminiscent of S*reen) so that was a huge success! :)

Today I need to give the bathroom it's spring clean (didn't get around to it yesterday) and more origami paper cutting. I al so need to despatch some ebay parcels that sold last night. The sun is out so I am hopeful it's warming up a little.

Have a great day all! :)

    Morning :hello:

I haven't finished that blanket yet, I keep getting interrupted. Less than 800 stitches to go now, I WILL get it finished today :D

I stole one of the Easter eggs the other day :D so had to replace it yesterday.

It's really cold here. I've been out and cleaned the chicken shed, had to break the ice so they could have a drink. I've topped it up with warm water for them :D I feel the need to be outside so I'll wrap up and have a play around with compost and pots.

Strange night last night - both the kids (aged 21 and 22) were fast asleep by 8pm  On a friday  Master tru is knackered from work, he's got his full time job and he's building up a customer base so he can go SE. Miss tru went to a hardcore night on thursday, that finished at 5am. She did her usual ritual of losing her phone *rolls eyes* and drinking too much (just well these events only happen a couple of times a year) and she's still recovering :D
