I have already signed the Tenancy Agreement, a case of you live and learn.

Appreciate all the responses, I am braced from a struggle to move supplier.

That doesn't mean that that clause can be enforced. Register for an account with BG and block any attempt to transfer to Spark.

I phoned up BG this morning and setup an account. I told them about Spark and they told me they cannot block the move from their end so I need to phone Spark Energy.

They do not open until Monday so will give them a call then and enquire about the status of the transfer and get it blocked if possible(If they let me).

You are not responsible for the energy accounts at the address until 10th April when you move in. Neither you nor BG can black the transfer. The situation for all premises is that you are with the incumbent supplier from the moment you moved in on a 'deemed contract' for at least the first 28 days. As explained by Fire Fox.

The moment you move in, you can initiate a switch of supplier, regardless of the clause in your tenancy agreement.
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

You've jumped the gun, you need to reg when you move in, not before. There's no evidence that the existing account has already been mooved to Spark. Assuming an existing tenant, that wouldn't happen until they leave.

 You can't register for an account at the property, you are not the occupier! Did you tell BG you are not moving until the 10th? If you did not you just created a problem for the current occupants and made yourself pay for ten days of standing charge.

I phoned the new movers BG help line and made it very clear to them I am not moving in till the 10th and that there is an existing tenant still living there. They were happy to proceed and setup my account and was told I will receive a call on the 10th to provide initial meter readings.
