Faster Payments this weekend to N&P

Options
Hey all, I'm going on holiday on Monday and have loaded up my N&P Gold light with £750 at about 11pm yesterday night. However, Lloyds has date stamped it with 2nd Apr. I had a rejected debit card payment when I tried to pay with the N&P card for lunch today.

logged on to my N&P account and it has not received the £750!

question is, will i receive the money in the account by monday morning or will it take till 2nd April to arrive in the N&P account?

also, will i be charged for the rejected VISA payment today?

thanks!

It will post onto your N&P account on Tuesday morning. N&Ps faster payments don't work on weekends or bank holidays.

Probably £15. If you send them an email through the online banking and explain what happened they will probably refund it.

I've never heard of a bank / building society charging for a declined POS transaction.

Any organisation that is not a full member of the Faster Payments Scheme will not provide immediate payment functionality. Basically they store up all the payment transactions they receive during the day then process them overnight, but they only do this on business days. Without knowing how N&P schedule this I can't say whether the payment will be credited to your account for start of day on Tuesday or at the end of Tuesday ready for Wednesday. This applies to nearly all Building Societies and some of the smaller banks.

Ah, yes, I'd forgotten about that method, I think some of the other Building Societies als do it that way.
