I don't have too much trouble with my laptop but I have just
tried to open two pages, both concerning finance, and I am told to reboot my router etc etc. Considering I have had no trouble accessing my bank I cannot understand what this is all about.
Can anyone suggest an easy way of sorting this? [STRIKE][STRIKE][/STRIKE][/STRIKE]

which website, what was the exact message!!

Reboot your router: switch off, wait one minute, switch on. But if your problem was specific to one site only, then that can't be the issue-however it will do no harm to try.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I went through 4 pages of security questions. All OK and then I get the sign that the page I want i.e. my page, is not available. I have just phoned them as I realised they would have staff in today and was told that their site does not like Google Chrome. They said to use Internet Explorer. I'll try that and get back if there are further problems.0

So, being a financial institution, their website will (should) have sophisticated security features built in, then they're advising you to use what is possibly the most vulnerable web browser to access it?
Classic!How do I add a signature?0 -
It would help enormously if you'd tell us what the site is!No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Hello Macman
Why would it help enormously? It is Fidelity.
I'm encountering another problem (I think I must have done something wrong with the settingxs!) When I start filling in details on a page it goes back to where I was previously. So, all in all I'm not getting very far.
Also, looks like at some stage I have deleted Internet Explorer. I have got back to it but the page also contains AVG which I dislike but which I cannot get rid of.0 -

So that somebody else can check if there's a problem for everybody on the website or just for you.604!0 -
without some context (ie a screenshot or the text of the page suggesting a router reboot), it's difficult for anyone to help.
Don't understand the IE/AVG comment either. If you are talking about the homepage is avg - change it, or there is a toolbar, just uninstall it, and stick avast free on.
Suggest doing a malwarebytes scan and posting a hijackthis log.!!

I tried to figure out what this was about and failed. Sorry.0

When you say you "got Internet Explorer back", how did you do that, from a backup of your computer, from an installation disk, or did you download it? If it was a download then it's possible that wherever you got it from also included AVG - there may have been a pre-ticked box that you should have unticked (my sister accidentally got Chrome on her PC last week that way). You should be able to uninstall AVG, but you should make sure there is some AV running (but only one, you are likely to have problems if there are two running at the same time - I currently use Avast).0
