NatWest account.

Options
I opened a Natwest current account five days ago. Money from an old account was transferred bank to bank, but since then I can't use it.

My pension hasn't gone in, my daughter has tried sending me emergency funds but can't. I suggested we did it via paypal, they rejected my card too.
Spoken to Natwest and card isn't blocked, everything in order.

Anyone have a clue, or has this happened to you?

Is the money sat in the account, but you can't access it?

Or are deposits not appearing at all?

You mention your daughter couldn't send you funds. How did she do that and what happened?

Your best option is probably to pop in to a branch and find out what's happened. Presumably they're open tomorrow.

Perhaps your card and account aren't linked.

No, there's nothing in my account. When daughter tries to send me some money her Lloyds won't allow it as a new recipient. paypal the same.
I'll have to go to branch but it's miles away and I'm in the middle of a house move, very low on petrol too, and the prospect of no money all weekend. I also need it to accept proceeds from house sale and pay for new rental.
My buyers wanted to move in today but I said no, if anything were to go wrong for me, I couldn't do anything due to Easter shutdown. Seems I was right.

Generally, moving money between bank accounts is done using the sort code and account number. The sort code is in the format xx-xx-xx and the account number is an eight digit number and not the sixtween digit number printed on the front of the card.

Most of the banks I use include sort code and account number on the front of the card. Natwest does things differently and only includes the sort code.

Have you been given out the sixteen digit number on your card out as your bank account number? Your account number isn't printed on your card, but should be mentioned in the documentation Natwest has sent you.

I've noticed the account number isn't on the card as usual with other banks, been doing it correctly though.
Just have to go in branch but concerned they won't know either. If the house proceeds don't go in on tues, I'll be sleeping in car with dog!!

OP needs to go back and ask again. Perhaps getting past front line monkies will help.

Either OP is giving people wrong sort/acc or its not fully activated.

Get someone to try a £1 faster payment.

    As to pension going in.
When and how has OP requested change of payment details.

for some reason natwest don't include account numbers on debit cards. every other debit card i've had did. so perhaps your not using the correct account number as previous posters have said. good luck

Pension solved, too late for this week so double next I only gave 14 days notice. Instead of pension on Friday, they sent a letter instead.

The card is activated as I withdrew cash at the PO on it.

My daughter sent emergency cash via paypal. They are taking 72 hours to verify bank account. I'll send the cash back to her as that's of no use. I told PP that on phone and when I checked they'd deducted 0.50p for the priviledge.

So no petrol, no cash for food. great bank holiday weekend.

I spent 4 hours on and off yesterday and more time today with paypal. Natwest are going to have to do something, all this faffin around is a waste of time. Yes I have spoken to customer advisor at local branch and more.

    Glad you are sorted.
Inlaws had real issues with pensions when they changed banks. one went in fine, the other they kept trying to send to the old acc for a couple of months.
They then had the nerve to blame the bank.....

I take it you daughter is not in the Uk if using PP for money payments.
Even with verifed acc's it any cash will not hit your bank account, in the same timeframe as a faster payment.
