    If you don't have anywhere secure to let her have a run you could try a long line, you can get long lengths cheaply on eBay or get a horse lunge line. The dog gets to have a good run as if there were no lead but you have the safety of holding on to the other end.

    we tried this and it turned into a great game of tug of war for her not us lol
    though she was tired at end of it but hadnt really learnt recall
    and the extending lead is 5m so not really long enough for that
