Used Apple Laptop

Most laptop hard drives run at 4200 rpm, compared to 7200 rpm for most desktops (Windows or Mac). Some high end laptops might have faster, but all the current macbooks seem to be 4200 (looking at specs on apple store). The Mac minis have 5400 rpm, a half-way-house.
Perhaps its just my imagination that its a big effect, they don't seem to improve them, but obsess with cpu speeds instead (?).

Yeah, what a mate! Oh well, its always the way. I bet someone got an ebay bargain there, esp with all that software! They'll prob sell all that software separately :-(
You may be able to get a low-end ibook for a decent price, though I have looked there before and I see many people paying too much compared to new prices (in my opinion).

tr3mor : so true. I've been outside working and just given up cos I could read nothing, need lots of shade.

I am a new convert to the Mac, having just had a 2.33Ghz 17" Mac Book Pro, for just over a month, It's an absolute dream,

Sorry you missed that bargain!

Hopefully you will find another one soon - I think the Apple Store have reconditioned ones which might be woth looking at.

Trust me - you won't regret getting an Apple! I love mine like I never loved any PC I've had (and I've had a few:mad: )
