in Credit cards
I don't have a credit card at the moment (well I probably do somewhere, but don't use them at all).
But I want to decorate my girls' bedroom this summer and just wondered what would be the best way to finance it. I don't really do debt, but this time I might have to as I have two weeks in August when girls will be with their dad and it is the perfect time to kit out their room.
I'm thinking:-
£500 bunk beds
£100 flooring
£50 paint
£300 wardrobe, chest of drawers
£50 other bits and bobs
So about a grand in total.
Is there a credit card I could get? Are loans better? Should I just use the overdraft on my bank account?

If you're not sure if you have a credit card or not, I'd recommend that you check your credit file with Equifax or Experian, or ideally both. You can get a report for £2.
Make sure all the information they hold is accurate.
If you don't have any negative things on your report, such as late payments or defaults in the past then you should be able to get some credit, although if you've never had a loan or credit card in the past you might not be able to get the best deals. Do you have a mortgage?
There are plenty of 0% purchase cards out there, my Tesco card for example has 0% on purchases for 16 months so I'm buying lots of things for my house on it so yes for £1000 a credit card would do the job.0 -

I'm fairly sure I used to use credit cards, but this is going back years now, so don't even know which ones. I don't get statements in the post as they have £0 on them.
Might do this credit check thingie.
Yep, have a mortgage.
The £500 I have allocated for the bunk beds is for the mattresses as well. I have found a nice frame that I will probably get off the internet for £200, but I want decent mattresses. My girls are only 4 and 2, so will be in the beds for quite a few years, and I don't want them to damage their little backs.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
