Bank of america on credit report?

Options
Hi

wasnt sure were to put this...

but ive just checked my credit report on noddle, and its showing under search history, that Company- Bank of America SR (ND Team), purpose- Administration review, Date 30/01/2013 ( and 25/03/2013 as theres 2 searches by this company).

im not aware of who they are (i guess there a bank in america) and why theve done a search?

could it be that someone is trying to make a loan application in my name?

should i be worried?

Thanks

It's possible that they are the legal identity behind a company you have had dealings with

MBNA is owned by Bank of America. Have you ever had anything to do with MBNA or Virgin money?

Companies do soft checks every so often to make sure a customer isn't having financial difficulties.
  • To be honest I'd expect ANY organisation you have credit facilites with to periodically check your credit report to see whether anything has changed.

Suppose MBNA suddenly see you've taken out some new credit cards - I'd expect they would start looking at the credit limit they supply you with and maybe reduce it - to reduce the risk to themselves.
