changing from automatic to manual

I passed my driving test in an automatic so can only drive this type of car.
What do I need to do to be able to drive a manual car? Is it just a case of booking up another driving test in the 'new'car.

DVLA site is what you need here. I believe that the auto licence is acceptable as a provisional licence for a manual, but things change. If it is still a provisional then you should be able to drive a manual box with L plates and accompanied by a licensed driver over a certain age [don't take my word for this. Check]. If you want a full licence it will be a new test, but check DVLA again for up to date fee information. Remember if you are stopped by police without meting the requirements of the law then ignorance is no excuse even if some well meaning sole misinformed you.
Sole? They would think that fishy. Try soulLife is like a box of chocolates - drop it and the soft centres splash everywhere0 -
Yep you need to learn to drive again.. This is why most people say just learn in a manual car and you dont have any isses later on.

I'm fairly sure you can do a car+trailer test in a manual to remove the restriction too.
Might be worth considering?0
