Parking Charge notice advice

Good morning:
Little bit of advice, i was booked via a private company, and a private road leading to a car park.
I was parked on yellow lines, but the ticket has the Main road name on it and not the actual road I was parked, which seems to be un-named.
The same people tried to clamp people the other week!
Can i reject this on the grounds they have the wrong name on it?
Shall i Wright back and advise them I was not parked on Said road?
Any advice welcome
Thanks

Well you don't say which company this is, and whether its in England or Wales, can you confirm both? In general though private parking can be ignored.
As for clamping, its now illegal in GB without lawful authority. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

England, Lancashire - geography lesson for Trev please :rotfl:Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Ignore for now. See if any follow up letter/PCN arrives by post.
In meantime, can you check out any signs that are there, and then come back. Sort of detail, were the signs at the entry of the unnamed street, could you reasonably have seen them (Yellow lines count for nothing on private roads).0 -

The signs are on a building on the other side of the road not at the entrance.
What about the incorrect road name on it?0 -
Signs or not, it does not give them any right to charge you an illegal traffic penalty.
Ignore them and in the unlikely event they try anything on, defend it hard and fast and with expense and harassment counter claims.Be happy...;)0 -

Like the sound of that, will the road name being incorrect have no role in this??0 -
They can't hit you with anything that says "penalty" or "fine". That's illegal. To hit you with a "charge" is not illegal, but neither is it enforceable outside a court.
You don't need to pay. They can only make you liable if they take you to court and win. Currently, there are very few cases that get there, a fraction of 1% and many of them lose.
If you are in the least worried, and can take a few pictures of the current sign and the road where your car was parked, it will do no harm in the very unlikely event that they did try it on and issue court papers. I say take photos now, in case they change the signs.
As far as the street name is concerned, you need to wait till they send the paperwork through. If it contains the street name and not "private unnamed road off street name", then a simple confirmation from the council that the unmade road is not part of the adopted street and that ANPR are not employed by the council on street ticketing will see it off.0 -
look up the difference between,,,PENALTY charge notice and PARKING charge notice,,basically one is genuine and must be paid,,the other is FAKE and equates to loo paper,,now guess which one you have????0
