Make a formal, written, complaint to their HQ.

Set out the sequence of events, how long the cabinet was stored for and in what conditions. Explain why you didn't inspect the goods sooner (leaving them unpackaged runs the risk of damage before they can be fitted etc).

Explain that you feel a large reputable company such as theirs would prefer to retain the goodwill of their customers. After all, you do have other bathrooms which you are looking to refurbish in the near future and you do like their products .....

Be nice and polite, hopefully they will see sense and replace foc.

    Good luck.

Thanks for both the advice and good wishes, jellie. Following other advice on this board, I already sent a letter of that sort to the Managing Director of Bathstore. I must admit I didn't include anything about retaining goodwill and future custom. The letter already seemed quite long enough given the amount of mail a Managing Director of a big company has to get through.

As it happens, I would not be lying if I spoke of future custom. We have decided that, because our new bathroom - stunning, except for the lack of a wall cabinet! - is so good, we will get the builder to refurbish the very tired downstairs shower room that we've been using for the last few months. However, it would take an enormous turnaround on the part of Bathstore for us to go back there for the materials.
