Debit Card???

Hey, this is my first post

Wondering if anyone here would be able to recommend an account or bank to talk to about getting a debit card organised.

I had one with the Bank of Scotland, but due to the charges I cancelled it and am now stuck because I have to pay for things on the net and can't.

I am a full time student.

You usually get a debit card with any current account. Can you not get another one from HBOS? Remember that most banks don't like you having more than one student account so to comply with their T&Cs, you'd need to close the HBOS one if you were moving to another bank. Another alternative is getting a credit card to pay for stuff on the web, in fact it would be better for that than a debit card, however you just have to keep an eye on your spending and try to make sure you pay it off every month.

If you have a good credit rating, you will get a debit card with nearly any current account. Otherwise, a Halifax Easycash or a co-op cashminder account is probably your best bet.

I would try alliance and leicester online application before going down the basic bank account route.
they seem to be ok even if you have had a few credit problems.have a look at recent threads.
