AOL Demo keeps on playing?

My computer came with an AOL video demo which annoyingly poped up every now and then (usually on boot up I think) It had a tick box saying "tick here if you don't want to see it again" I must have ticked it hundreds of times. In the end I tracked down the .exe file associated with it and deleted it. That stoped it displaying. Anyone know where the schedule that made it start is? Trouble is I'm tidy minded and don't like to think there is a schedule looking for that file every time I boot up.

Click on the start button then on run and type msconfig
Click on the startup tab on the right hand side and you will get a list of things that start when you boot.
You could also try checking the startup folder in your all programs list0 -
Thanks for that, It was in the list of things that start up but not in my startup folder.
I notice that the list also includes a location colmn. The stuff that is in my startup folder are given a location of Common Startup while all the other items including the demo are given a location of HKCU\SOFTWARE\microsoft\windows\CurrentVersion\Run
So I presume that the command to start the demo is in one of the command files that intiates the esential windows components.
I also note that some of the items that start up are duplicated. I suppose it is so complex and of such little importance that the risk of messing about far outweighs any gain.0 -
If anything is duplicated its ok to untick it, there are also usually lots of other bits of software that its ok to untick like AIM, Quicktime and real audio startups etc.
If you are unsure of any of the programs just google the exe file and there are plenty of sites that will tell you if its safe to untick.0
