Pls help - Calling UK from Saudi Arabia

Hi

I'm temporarily living in Saudi and would really like to make cheap calls back to the UK.

I've tried skype, it can't hear me. I've tried Callserve and it doesn't connect.

Any other ideas, is there any kind of international mobile I could use?

Some countries' main telecoms providers block VoIP to protect their market position. I'm not sure if that applies in Saudi Arabia, but it does in some of their near neighbours.

Look into callback services, either with a landline or using a mobile phone with a local or global roaming SIM card. Callback allows you to work around the indigenous tariffs by using other providers; you receive a call, then make the onward connection.
