How do you know when you're due a tax refund?
Is this something that you have to apply for?
My reason for asking is - when I started this new job, back on 5th April - the accountant here said it looked like I had been paying too much tax.
I used to work somewhere else full time and also had a part -time job which I did one evening per week.
Now I only have this full time job.
How would I find out if I am due a tax refund or not?

Is this April this year?
Have you received your P60 yet?
In order to claim any owed tax back from last year you need to send this (take a copy) to HMRC with a covering letter.

Hi Tig
I only started this new job this year on the 5th March - it was the accountant from this new job that said it looked like I had been paying too much tax - he said this when I handed him my P45 from my last job.
I've never been given a P60 from anywhere.
