The complaint didn't seem very weak to them . It could be that your statement above is very weak.
I only asked advice on this because it was through a car dealer.
Have you had any experience in dealing with car dealers with regard to PPI per chance OR are you employed within and are trying to dissuade people.
I think we need to be told. Come clean now.;)0 -
Hmmm, I sent a complaint to MBNA this year quoting the same reasons as above for PPI on a credit card and I got a cheque for over £1500 a few weeks later.
Accusing me of working in the industry is unwise when my entire posting history on this forum clearly shows otherwise...
Your complaint remains very weak and a FOS referral will take around eighteen months to confirm that.0 -

That sounds like an auto payout. Small value complaints like that settled in weeks rather than months tend to be auto payouts without investigation. i.e. getting lucky. The cost of the FOS fee and cost of investigating is typically a couple of thousand. So, its cheaper to pay out than argue.
The complaint reason given is a weaker one. It may succeed but when you look at the various complaint reasons, it is not one with a high success rate.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Generally it appears that as dealers were not regulated until 2005, the finance houses all took the opportunity to make their paperwork water tight, compared to banks who had been regulated for many many years. I am surprised that AC say that they were unadvised sales, as I thought all dealers made advised sales.
Lets just say I have some professional experience in this area.0
