Hi everyone
Crossposted on Benefits and Tax Credits board.
Anyone know what is happening with ESA when Universal Credit comes in?
(I know there are issues with UC, but assuming it does actually happen the way the govt would like to think it will.....)
My question relates to Income Based vs Contribution Based ESA.
As far as I can see from the Govt websites, it seems that only Incom Based ESA is going to UC.
Is this correct?
Would be pleased it someone could point me in the right direction on this one
Thanks

Income Based ESA will become part of Universal Credit, Contribution Based ESA will continue as a separate standalone allowance.
These benefits will be replaced by UC:-
Income Support
Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
Income-based Employment and Support Allowance
Housing Benefit
Child Tax Credits
Working Tax Credits.
These benefits will stay as they are:-
Contribution-based Jobseekers Allowance
Contribution-based Employment and Support Allowance
Child Benefit
Carer’s Allowance
Statutory Sick Pay
Statutory Maternity Pay, Paternity Pay and Maternity Allowance.0
