Bay Window Curtain Poles options? (pic)

Morning,

I had French doors to replace the bay window installed and as such need curtains to drop the full length. Can you recommend options for curtain poles I'm guessing will 'hang' from the area above the doors etc? Not keen on curtain tracks and would prefer something wooden and chunky if possible.

Any thoughts or recommendations appreciated?

I would do blinds in that window and if I really wanted curtains would have them across the bay rather than trying to get them around the bay. You don't have any space above the doors to hang a pole (although you can get them for metal poles, not sure about wooden ones)

    Try John Lewis

I can only see the first two photos though.

Thanks Pimento. As well as posting on here I emailed a few firms and had a positive response from one which can be hosted from the ceiling and runs on gliders that run on a track but look like a rail. Looks good!

Not quite sure of the scale, but I'd aim for four curtains on three poles. Central pole over two doors, 2X curtains draws back to left and right hinge point. Then, 2X smaller poles over each window, draw back to panels left and right of the small windows. I'd then use curtain tie-backs to make an elegant droop.. if you see what I mean. Pin them up (to themselves at waist height... oh for a draw function...)

You can bend curtain poles a bit, the wood is pliable if not too thick (the 2.5cm stuff bends just, thinner is easy...) and if you use a wallpaper steamer to slowly heat the wood, you can put a gentle bend in. Obviously, no good without support, and curtain can't run past support, but it works. I did it to some effect in a large bay window in an old timber-framed house, but there was a bit more space to play with. It did take 2 or 3 wooden rails to get it right, but they're cheap enough in Wilko or online.
