Bank charge coming! Can I avoid it?

Hi!

Looking for some advice please...

A few weeks ago, one of my cheques was returned unpaid. I had worked out my finances to the penny (or so I thought ) before writing it - but, having one of those accounts with 'save the change', the bank had taken out a few pence before the cheque was presented. And so it was returned. (It is worth mentioning that when I signed up to the account, I asked not to have 'save the change' and they told me it was not optional). Anyway, I called them up and told them I was not happy and I believed this to be their fault. They told me that the saving service was optional and cancelled it for me. And as a 'gesture of goodwill', they withdrew any pending charges for the unpaid cheque. They also informed me that they couldn't do it again in the next twelve months. I wasn't too happy with them saying it was my fault even though I know I was partly to blame but I accepted it as I was getting a refund.

So... This week I mis-calculated again, it was entirely my fault and I went a few pennies over so another cheque was returned.

Is there anything I can say to the bank to persuade them not to charge me again? And I pinkie promise I won't write another cheque!

Thanks in advance! xx

    It doesn't sound like it.

Only your bank can answer that but it sounds like they have already refunded you once (even if you don't think it's your fault) so will be unlikely to refund you again. Have you tried applying for a small over draft to stop this happening in future?
