Free PAYE software for a small business

From April the PAYE system will operate in real time. Up until now i have used the free PAYE software from HM revenue and customs but from April you can only use it if you have 9 or less employees and I have 10! The official free commercial software on their site is also only suitable for up to 9 employees (there's a surprise) so any suggestions? I have a small business, the only reason we have 10 employees is because they are all part time and in the current climate buying a package is not what i want to do!
There must be loads of small businesses out there in our position - anyone come up with a free or cheap alternative?

Presuming that reducing your workforce to 9 is not an option, have you tried Googling for "free PAYE software"?
Personally, I would take the plunge and get something like Sage Payroll - they have quite a large incentive to get everything right and keep it up-to-date. It's probably also a legitimate business expense.0 -
I'm going to be brutally honest here. If you can afford to have 10 employees you can afford to pay for a good solid PAYE software. As John said about Sage Payroll it will tick all the boxes for you.0

Have looked at Sage, thanks and will try 'googling' - an obvious suggestion I hadn't thought of! As to being able to afford it - profits are being squeezed from all directions, trying to keep my head above water 'every little helps'.0

Having a poor PAYE system in place will take your most precious commodity... time!
If you have to spend a few quid out to save you time it's a no brainer!0 -
A further consideration is that you don't want to run any risk of annoying HMRC, and taking the safe option will save you hassle and time, as Gunstar says.
Here you are: Sage One Payroll, up to 15 employees, £15+VAT per month...0 -
aw-apps.co.uk do free payroll software RTI enabled unlimited employees but currently only Linux.0
