Does anyone know anything about a company called Vendside?-re bank charge recovery

Not a warning or a rip off- but a friend had an advert put through her door re this company who claim to be able to recover bank charges.Obviously I know there are likely to be charges-commission whatever, and she is not up to doing the work herself.

Has anyone else used them?

Are there other companies who do this?-better or worse?

Agree with Al Mac, even if she doesn't feel capable of doing it herself get a friend to assist. Its really quite easy just takes perseverance !

Dont think I can change her mind about doing it herself or with help, and just want to see if the company is known to anyone.
  • If your friend wants to use a company then only use one that is regulated.

You can check out if a firm is authorised on https://www.claimsregulation.co.uk. I have just looked for vendside and they do not appear so would appear to be operating illegally. Please ask your friend for full details of the company and post them to me and I will gladly report them to the regulator.

I run a claims company that deals with bank charges as well as all other financial complaints, if it turns out that vendside are legally registered (using vendside as a trading name) then the basic premise is that nobody should pay more than 10% plus VAT for this type of service

They give a registration number for that website CRM1480-(got this from a website address) Does this mean they are covered for this type of work?

Interesting to note that that Lloyds TSB was the first bank to ever win a case today in the county court against someone claiming £2500 for supposedly unfair overdraft penalty charges.

  • Checked again and they do show up as regulated. They look like a mainly miners injury claims co that is branching out.

25% plus VAT is still way too much. Claiming bank charges is a process with the potential for some legal input if it goes to court as thousands of posters already know. Thats why people, if they want someone else to do it, should not pay more than 10% plus VAT

  • vendside have in the past 5 years been a subjuct of the serious fraud squad, as it is wholly owned by the union of democratic mineworkers, because of them ripping off their own members, in compensation claims
DO NOT ENTERTAIN THEM AS they are not what they profess to be
the 2 main directors are also leaders of the same union with less than 1000 members and shrinking yet their salaries are £178000 and £150000 respectively. , this can be verified through companies house..So beware of thieves
