How to close Capital One Account?

Hi all, sorry if this has been covered elsewhere on here. I'm planning on applying for a %0 balance transfer offer to shift my Capital One Card balance. I would imagine the sensible thing to do if I am successful would be to close the Capital One account. I don't fancy spending an eternity on the phone trying to close this account - does anybody have any idea if this can be done online?

Make sure your account has had a nil balance for 2 months (trailing interest catches a lot of people out) then write a letter to the address on your statement or from the contact them section of their website.
Ask for confirmation.
Please note it is your responsibility to cancel any CPA to the card - if you don't and somebody processes a payment they will reopen the account and you will be liable to pay.0 -
I closed my Capital One card over the phone, took about 5 minutes.
My account didn't officially close for about 2 weeks though as it is left open in case you have a few transactions still to hit the account.I have numerous qualifications in Business and Finance, Accountancy, Health and Safety and am now studying Law.
Don't rely on anything I write as it may be wrong!!!0
