How strong is the wireless signal as shown in Windows? If it's weak despite being close to the router you could change the router channel as you may be getting interference from neighbour's routers.
If the signal is fine you could try updating your wireless driver (my old Acer refused to play with my Sky router til I did this. Connected to the router at full stength but had limited/local service only).0 -
Might need to update the drivers on the card and then configure it.0

If you're on Virgin cable you should have a Superhub by now?
It could be your firewall/antivirus. Somewhere in the settings is a "trusted zone" setting, that you may need to add the router to. It's usually on the ip address of 192.168.0.10 -
Might be expedient to take your lappy somewhere with free wifi and see if it will connect. If it will, start with your router. Connect with you Ethernet cable and check the wireless settings. Try turning off security to start with and go from there.Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc0

The limited connectivity is usually an indication that the laptop failed to get an IP address from the router, and is therefore using a local private address (the IP will begin 169.254)
Simply restarting the router, followed by rebooting the laptop may solve your issue. How do I add a signature?0 -
I have the same problem when reinstalling windows. I found out it was the Atheros driver. And when I downloaded and installed it everything worked.
Also on one occasion I looked at the Superhub wireless settings and the wireless thingy had to be clicked to turn it on.
Superhub addy should be http://192.168.0.1 and if you haven't altered it, Username is admin and password changeme

And as said already. Turn off computer, turn off hub. Wait a few minutes and turn on hub, let lights settle down then turn on computer. Hopefully this will sort you out. :cool:0 -
Hi
Had the same problem with sons not connecting to wireless. He too had Belkin trying to connect to wireless.
What I did was to turn security off WPA, connecting to internet unsecured.
Go to device Manager,Click network adapter, then click Belkin,Right click and select update driver. Once you have done that revert back to secure internet connection.
Hope that helps0
