Is good friday a bank holiday?

Banks are open on Saturdays, but it's still not a banking day so far as the inter-bank payments system is concerned.
Afraid I get payments in and out of my accounts on Saturdays, Sundays AND on so called 'Bank' Holidays. I bank with RBS and Santander. It would appear the term has little relevance in the modern world, and in any case may only reflect when a physical bank has its doors open to the public. Payment transfers etc are not affected in any way.0 -

I go on my internet banking and access my pending transactions, they normally show up there for the following day. My husband gets paid on the 30 of the month and it went in this morning.Mortgage: Aug 12 £114,984.74 - Jun 14 £94000.00 = Total Payments £20984.74

But surely still dated the next working day on your statement, despite their arrival time.
IME, faster payments are unaffected, however, BGC / BACs transfers, Direct Debits, Standing Orders and the like don't go on a non-banking day. Similarly, for cheque clearance times, non-banking days won't count.
Friday is classed as such a day, and as such, my wages, which are due on the 1st of each month, have credited today, due to the Friday and Monday banking holidays.Whilst my posts do not constitute financial advice, I am always, without fail, 100% right!0 -
I put a cheque into Santander last Saturday so I would normally be able to access my funds on Friday which is of course Good Friday.
Does anyone know if this money will be cleared to use or will I now have to wait until Tuesday?0 -

I suspect that means that any generalisations about 'the banks' are invalid - they vary. Which is part of the point of having multiple banks rather than just one0
