As we are not psychic on this board please provide more details
- Computer make, model?
- Operating system of the PC.?
- How is the printer connected to the PC?
- What happens when you switch the printer on?
- Any error messages on the PC?
- Did the printer work in the past or is it a new installation?
- Have you done anything, installed new software etc. since the printer was working?
- What are you trying to print using which program?

See if any of this helps

If not, choose the exact printer model, then the OS

Could be worth switching the printer off, restarting the PC then switching the printer on.0 -
Toshiba Satellite L300 running on Windows 7.
The printer was first installed when the computer was supplied, running on Vista, but we upgraded to Windows 7 with no problems. This has been running for about 3 years, but we are now getting the message "printer offline". There have been no changes to software since the printer last worked, as far as we know. We have tried re-running the disc but it is suitable only for XP and Vista. We think we need a driver which is suitable for Windows 7?As we are not psychic on this board please provide more details- Computer make, model?

Just go onto the HP website and download the new drivers, I have the old HP 330 photo printer and when I upgraded to Win 8 I just downloaded the new drivers.0

We have already tried this, and have just tried again but we have to register and pay for the driver. Is there any way to get a free one?Just go onto the HP website and download the new drivers, I have the old HP 330 photo printer and when I upgraded to Win 8 I just downloaded the new drivers.0

You must be on the wrong site
Select your product» HP Photosmart C4580 All-in-One Printer
» HP Photosmart C4583 All-in-One Printer
» HP Photosmart C4585 All-in-One Printer
» HP Photosmart C4599 All-in-One Printer
If you post the exact model and version of windows 7 I can get the link for you0 -
Agree with Santer, driver download from HP website, also diagnostic software, is free.0

Printer is HP Photosmart C4599 All in one Printer/scanner
Computer is Toshiba Satellite L300-29X running on Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1
Hope this is enough0 -
I would start with this because it is a small download
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=3575173&prodNameId=3757821&swEnvOID=4052&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=mp-115766-2
It will probably link to a larger download, but at least it will be the correct one for your printer
Or you can install this, though 182MB file size

+1 to the above.
I have had HP printers for many years, I always register the printer with HP, then setup "Automatic Downloads" to upgrade the software regularly. My 3 year old Photosmart C5380 still gets upgrades now.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.
