Pc Screen Viewed On Tv Screen - Help Please!

Hi

I have a PC running Windows XP and a built-in dvd player. When we first had the pc we found out, through a pc tips mag, that you could run the dvd on the pc, and then through a cable to the TV, the film could then be viewed on the TV (bigger screen etc).

This used to be achieved through the control panel>display> settings>advanced>device selection and then opt for TV or monitor>output - s.video out and ok. This then changed the screen view away from the pc monitor to the TV screen.

About 12 months ago we had to change the graphics card in the PC as the old one went pop (it now has a Radeon 9550 card - this was a compatible card).

Today I have tried to do the old trick of running the pc screen view on the TV, however, when I go through the usual control panel> blah blah.
In the advanced settings tab, there is no option at all for TV or monitor.

Has anybody got any ideas? I can only think that the change of graphics card has altered this - but I'm at a loss as how to get this option back.

Many thanks for reading this lengthy blog. All advice gratefully received.

Try connecting the TV to the graphics card before turning on the pc. Some graphics cards have to detect the tv before it gives you the choice of selecting it.
