  • When they say "in arrears", how exactly are they defining that?

If you pay monthly then, during the winter months, you may be slightly in debit, but that would be offset by being in credit during he summer.

Do they mean this, or do they mean missing a payment?

I'm guessing they mean behind on payments
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

So fit prepayment meters for them?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

If only it was so simple ..

Reading the article the reason for the arrears is because people can't afford to pay .

Fitting a pre payment meter is not only more expensive , but means they have to cut back somewhere else ? I wonder how many people are in arrears simply because they dont't want to pay as apposed to those who can't afford to pay ?

With the weather conditions as they are at the moment and the introduction of bedroom tax I inagine the figures will be far higher in the weeks to follow .
  • What's "method cash"
  • Can we also call it "benefit cuts" not "tax". It's clearly not a tax despite all of the bs.

Have about 200 debt on gas and electric, paying it back at £6 per week on both. I spend £50 each week on gas and electric, my house is old and very very cold. My heating is always on low and I sit in the dark with the tv off to save electric. When the heating funds get low before the end of the week I have to turn the heating off, in weather like this it's not funny. I'm so cold I sit and cry from frustration and wonder how I got my life so wrong.

I've never had prepayment meters but the bills were so high, I couldn't pay them so I had to switch and add the debt so it didn't damage my credit rating.
  • £50 a week?

    I don't pay that a month.
