Meant to say that iPad mini is also on offer, although it is £245 (saving of only £24):

And Groupon have just sent a me a £5 off coupon, so that brings it down to just £1044!!! What a bargain, I must purchase this!!

    What, Hang on....

Sorry, I can buy a Non Apple Laptop that will do the same job for less than £500. Surely not! I mean, the richest company in the world (well they were not too long ago) wouldn't be selling something for more than twice the price of their competitors and getting away with it surely!?! Oh wait, thats WHY they are the worlds richest company......

I don't think I will become an iSheep this week.....

Bear in mind that Apple likes to own them inside as well as out.

They solder in the RAM and batteries have been known to explode on a removal attempt.
Not as 'last a lifetime' friendly as your standard laptop.

    Ignore the above copypasta trolls...

    They have no idea!

They will claim that they do, they will even claim they a seal trained ninja's from the CIA who know more about computers than Holly from Red Dwarf!

If you think a near 30% discount on a QUALITY product with good residuals is a bad thing, maybe you will have to learn a little more about this site.

I doubt you will ever be rich enough to be an isheep...

    You cane be an Itroll.

If i had the cash this deal would tempt me!
But I will have to wait.

I don't own an apple, but having used a few I can see why some would like one and why those same people are willing to pay more for the product.

    SIMPLES!
  • Can't see anything about the Apple Care? I wouldn't have one without the extended three year warranty.
  • I have a macbook pro and it's one of the best purchases I ever made. Ignore the apple haters.

    agree.

This is a 2012 model (the basic one with a 256GB upgrade on the HD). THat is my understanding.

Problem with these is the integrated graphics. The 15inch is a much more powerful beast but larger and $$$.

    All the same, lovely machines

Thanks for the personal insults, much appreciated. I love it when people have so much strength in an argument that they take it to insults straightaway.....

The point I was making is that from an MSE point of view, buying an Apple product doesn't make sense. There are many other, cheaper alternatives. You have an Ipad, yet similar spec tablets can be had for much less. The Ipad Mini is £245, yet I paid £100 (yes with cashback and a good deal) for a Samsung Tab2. Does everything I need it to, and I have £145 in my pocket (or more) than someone who bought an Ipad Mini. So whose the smart one there?

There is nothing wrong with Apple, but I do find that iSheep tend to oversell them (yet never/hardly ever use them to the full capability of the product) when a cheaper product can do what they need.

As for residuals, well, especially with technology, if I buy a £500 laptop, then most I can lose is £500. With a £1k laptop, I can lose £1k. So even with a good residual, I am £500 up on whatever residual you may have.

If you want to buy an Apple, buy an Apple, but sell it on its merits, rather than insulting those who disagree with you.

And for anyone who is reading, take advise from someone who has a Macbook, rather than me or Dexter, who is still saving up his money for one. (could probably get a laptop now though, and get some use out of it straightaway, but there you go...)
