Questions regarding Switching for the First Time

Ok, I signed up to EDF 1year ago when I got my house, id never had any bills nor meter details in the past to base my choice of supplier on. First time Buyer.

Since all the price cuts have been mentioned, EDF being the last and possibly still the highest priced, how do I go about switching.

Is it best to enter into comparison sites, the amount I pay for Gas & Electric per month, the reason I ask, is they recently increased my monthly payments so it doesnt give an accurate Payment over the Year.

Should I add up each months Kw useage or whatever and use this info in the Comparison Search, is it more accurate this way.

A question my mam had was, since all of the Cuts, do the comparison sites have the up to date information relating to the Price changes and thus inform you of the cheaper alternatives using this?

Hope you can help

Comparison sites always work better with consumption in kwh than monthly payment. The sites are up to date.
