I wonder if they actually understood what you were requesting, i am not normally a spelling/punctuation/grammar pedant but 5 min with a spell checker could have saved you a lot of effort
I believe they can keep £5 as a broker fee, not £9.95
Write a fresh letter explaining your situation, enclose the relevant POD for the previous letters and ask them to respond to your complaint immediately, if you don't get the response you want escalate (after 8 weeks) to the relevant authority
Don't phone, email or text them - everything in needs to be in writing0 -

Follow the instructions on their website for a refund.mw12345789 wrote: »I had to lend money to help with moving house.
Ask the person you lent it to if they can pay it back early, due to cashflow problems.0 -

This doesn't make any sense
So the council told you to apply to SGE Loans for a loan?
Who have SGE loans filed a complaint to and why?
Who is telling you it is for a product?
Why are you lending money to people if you don't have it in the first place?0 -
This is what I thought, too.
I have never known a council advise someone to go to a particular company for a loan (and I've been a Cllr for longer than I care to remember), and my advice to everyone is be careful before you borrow.
We need A LOT more details here.

As well as following all the advice is on this forum about how to reclaim a refund of your money, I suggest you make a complaint to the council who you say advised you to go to this organisation.
The person or department who gave this doubtful advice should be pulled up immediately, and prevented from giving out any more 'advice' in the future.
When you have done that, write out 100 times: "Anyone who takes my debit card details is going to take money from me, not give me any!""There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
18603507, we need a bit more info please, i dont believe the member of staff at the council told you to take a loan from SGE and the complaint issue is a bit odd.0

I had to lend money to help with moving house.
I suspect the OP is confusing 'lend' with 'borrow'. S/he had to borrow money to move house.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -

I thought that too, hence my post above.
We refer to the local credit union, or have the ability to give grant funding from a pot (although we have to justify why), and this is done on 50/50 funding basis.
Even in councils that don't have a dedicated pot of money (ours isn't from the taxpayer, but from local businesses whether cash or furniture), there should only be referral to a CU.
