Hi,
I have a direct debit due to come out on the 1st April, when will my account be debited due to Easter?
Will it be the working day before the bank holidays or the working day after?

It depends on when the originator of the direct debit starts the process, but generally it'll be the first working day after the bank holiday.Early retired - 18th December 2014

ISTR the general rule of thumb is the closest bank-working day. Should this be ambiguous then it will be the earliest of the two days.
So in your case, as @Goldiegirl said, should be Tuesday but I would also err on the side of caution and prepare for it to be the Thursday before.MFiT-T3 #149: {Q4/14} (£46,447)-->(£0) ~ +£46,447=100%
