Should I demand reciept?

Most tradesmen prefer cash for two reasons:
1/ They don't have to worry about bouncing cheques
2/ They may not declare all their income for tax/vat
Paying cash keeps them happy and they are entitled to ask for cash rather than a cheque.
But they should give you a receipt.0 -
Yes, get a receipt. If you want any come-back on any potential problems later, you need proof you paid them something.0

Thanks...can I withhold payment if he suggests "send reciept in post"?0

it depends how your trade works, some use an invoice pad which they keep in the van & can give you a receipt there & then, others use a pc based system which means they can't do it until they get to the office/home.
tbh if you don't trust them to send you a receipt why are you trusting them to work in your home ?I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0
