Help "loose mouse"

I have an Dell Inspiron laptop, and my mouse is playing up in the fact that it's loose, meaning I am having trouble to get it to go where I want it to go.
I know its to do with the driver as it's happend before and Dell (over the phone) updated my drivers for me.I am not at all computer savvy.
Can anyone point me in the direction of which driver or should I just phone Dell again? I have a service contract on the machine but it seems a petty thing to call them again
Thanks

Theres a moose loose aboot this hoose!

Could be contamination on the track pad ( its Not a mouse), have you tried cleaning it with a slightly damp cloth?
Better still buy a proper mouse as recommended above, track pads are the devil's spawn.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

If you go to the Dell site

    http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/uk/en/19/drivershome/showproductselector

And enter all the details of your laptop, you should be able to find the new drivers there. All you need to do is download them and usually, just run tehm as normal to install them.

Drivers don't "wear out" - if it was working OK the other day but is playing up now it will be something mechanical or electrical to blame. If cleaning the trackpad doesn't help then by far the cheapest repair option will be to buy a mouse.

No but drivers can corrupt - that's not unusual. Always worth re-installing them just as a part of trouble-shooting.
