I've Got a pirate adventure for anyone who is willing to take up the challange. Yaaarrr!
My little girl has requested a pirate party for her 4th birthday! I've been looking about to get everything from paper plates to decorations for 20 people. It's going to end up quite expensive (8 paper plates alone are £2.00) found a site that has a party pack for 8 people at £10.50 http://www.megapartysupplies.co.uk/productimage.asp?id=884
Trouble is I'd need to buy 3 of these.
Anyone want to help me find cheep pirate themed tableware and decorations.
Think I'm going to get one of these they look cool! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Inflatable-Palm-Tree-Table-Top-Cooler-Luau-Party_W0QQitemZ170110502793QQihZ007QQcategoryZ122797QQcmdZViewItem
Will probably make my own invites, I am quite good with graphics on the computer!
Thanks!

How about an idea for some cheap (and very nice looking) invites? Go and find a PC desktop background for the Pirate of the Caribbean (ie, http://www.themovieinsider.com/w550-pirates-of-the-caribbean-2-dead-mans-chest-desktop-wallpapers.html)
Download the file and then edit it with a graphics package like gimp or photoshop or something and add the details of the invitation. Then save the file and use one of the many offers out there for photo printing. ie, snapfish photobox, etc, etc. I'm sure without too much work you could get up to 50 top-notch party invites for a couple of quid.
Failing that, you could always buy a pirate ship from Hamleys for £28,000!!

Woollies used to do all sorts of party stuff with various themes. Maybe some of the big card shops like Clintons, Birthdays etc. You might find some stuff in pound shops too?

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. will check out my pound shop tomorrow! I got a wee pirate outfit set out of primark today, it's PJ's but you'd never know, they are called dress up for bed and you get a headscarf and dagger with the costume. It was only £4.0

Done a pirate party for DS few weeks ago
Wilkinson have a good range of tablewear ( same as clintons but half the price)
for example 8 pirate goody bags in wilkies 49p / clinton £1.99
They also have invitations there but I opted to print plain white card with skull and crossbones at the top via pc & came put pretty good.
Got ready made fairy cakes and decorated them with piratey type things (c'mon was not going to make them myself...40 kids!)
I'll see if I can find you a recipe for jelly boats..the kids loved them.£900 towards next holiday...ta very much Mr T x0 -

To get skull and crossbones patterns for decorations, cakes etc. look up Hallowe'en patterns: they'll have the skulls and then just rearrange a couple of femurs for the crossbones.0
