FAO Taiko: Financial Commitments and student finance

Im currently filling out my student finance forms, having been granted PMC and got my fees "re-funded" so I can do the degree I wanted to do in September.
Im Filling out the part for the parents learning allowance as I have three children under the age of 4, two of which will be in full time nursery so that I can go to lectures.
The lady at the student finance department at my local LEA has said that my husband and I wnt be entitles to the childcare grant becasue he earns 25,560k P/A. So over the threshold apparently.
Ive desided to fill the forms out anyways, as I dont think there is any harm in doing so, just so I get a definite answer.
I was just hoping that Taiko, or anyone else here could help me with what all the financial commitments are that are taken into consideration, and whether Taiko could put my figures through his spreadsheet?? Pretty please?? xxx

I'm still on financial year end, so don't have time to do the calculations myself right now. Look at your outgoings though for insurances, rent/mortgage etc. Don't include utilities, food in those outgoings.
At a rough guess, you'd need about £18,000 in allowable outgoings to have any entitlement.0
